On behalf of FunnerFlight, X-Plained.com is pleased to inform you that FunnerFlight airport designer Jeff Mueller has released Los Angeles International Airport (KLAX).

This extremely detailed airport with ortho ground textures included comes with a lot of features and besides that, an additional static and dynamic aircraft pack can be added to it. We’re quite sure you’re curious how it looks like and what to expect and if your computer can handle this complex modelled airport. Ok, here’s the feature and requirement list.

– 13000+ objects
– Close to 20 sq mi of 30 cm (1 foot) Aerial Photography

The following hardware and software requirements are needed:
– OpenSceneryX Library
– X-Plane 10.21+
– Windows, Mac or Linux
– 2Gb Video Card Minimum. 3GB+ Video Card recommended.
– 8Gb RAM Warning: KLAX is a heavy scenery and requires a modern computer

Please read the Quick-START INSTALL.pdf for ease of installation.

Airport designer Jeff Mueller worked for more then 15 months of unbelievable hardship making this scenery, but it’s worth it. Several changes to the airport can be made with the help of included documentation.

Oh yes, you want to see what it looks like?
Then you should check out this YouTube movie. Once you’ve seen the modelled airport during day and night, I’m quite sure you’re convinced that this will be your new home airport or your favourite destination. Then you should visit the dedicated X-Plane.Org page.

SpainUHD Part II “Majorca Impression”

Flag-of-MallorcaToday we’re pleased to offer you part II of our SpainUHD exploration. This movie covers Majorca or Mallorca and although you won’t see everything of this beautiful island in this movie, it will give you an idea what to expect when you decide to download it from SpainUHD.

For those who aren’t still familiar with SpainUHD …. SpainUHD is a new photorealistic scene high resolution mesh throughout Spain, with zoom level 17 on the mainland and 18 in islands, and elevation data 25 meter resolution for flight simulator X-Plane 10. Depending on what you want to explore, it’s worth the download.

You don’t believe me?
In that case, I would suggest that you fly with me over Majorca and hopefully you like it as I did. Enjoy!

SpainUHD Part I “Menorca Impression”

Bandera-de-MenorcaSpainUHD is a new photorealistic scene high resolution mesh throughout Spain, with zoom level 17 on the mainland and 18 in islands, and elevation data 25 meter resolution for flight simulator X-Plane 10. The performance is very similar to SimHeaven scenarios, but the CPU and RAM requirements are somewhat higher to have one, similar to those of the UHD meshes rather more complex mesh AlpilotX. With a graphical 1Gb of VRAM move perfectly.

At X-Plained we’re pleased to offer you part I of SpainUHD photo real sceneries. Our first YouTube SpainUHD movie deals with a flight impression of the island of Menorca. Curious? Then you must check it out right here at X-Plained. And yes, more to follow since it’s worth to try it out yourself.

For more information you must visit the SpainUHD website via this link.

SimHeaven “the Netherlands”

simheaven_netherlandsNot long ago I started a positing with “For those who like to fly about the Netherlands, Europe, there’s currently, using X-Plane’s default ground textures, not much fun with. While living in the middle of the province Flevoland, the default ground textures are far from real, but this is the same for all other Dutch locations.”

Now it’s time to check out that idea/promise. First I needed to download several SimHeaven packages including OSM Europe + Autogen data and then, on my way to the Netherlands, Europe. Even with the ZonePhoto ZL16 package, you’ll notice that the result is awesome. You can hardly believe that something simple like adding photo-real packages can change your look and feeling of “my country”. Oops, the problem is that SimHeaven doesn’t offer these ZL packages anymore. Instead, a perfect alternative are the packages from ZonePhoto. Remember the “highlighted scenery” linked page is based on SimHeaven ZL17 packages. Therefore, read the note in the article.

Curious?
Then you need to check it out Angelique’s highlighted scenery SimHeaven “the Netherlands”.

Roger2009 “DC-9-30 Series”

Highlight-product-Roger2009-DC-9-30-SeriesGood old workhorse, the Douglas DC-9-30 Series. Angelique van Campen explores Roger2009 his Dc-9-30 Series. Although I’ve written a while ago this product story, I found it worth to pinpoint it again on the highlight X-Plained list.

Ah! The good old days of the Douglas DC-9-30 Series. Oh, I’ve worked so many hours on this aircraft as a mechanic and later as a ground engineer. I’ve seen during my Martinair Holland technical period so many of these DC-9 types, but also the short and longer version.

Although there’s still some work to do, I’m pleased with this classic DC-9. And because I’m pleased with his model, the review/impression is a little longer then planned. Check out her comprehensive review link.
