It’s time for another utility review. Time for a freeware iOs or iPad OS review. It’s time for Laminar Research Control Pad app.

According to your personal reporter Angelique “When you own an Apple iPhone or iPad, and using X-Plane 11 on your Mac, Windows or Linux, then this article could be very interesting to you. Oh yes, I’m aware that this free Apple Store app is already for a long time available, but I get the impression that it’s a bit “a forgotten Laminar Research app”. But first, let me introduce you to the Laminar Research X-Plane Control Pad.”

This was fun.
I know this Laminar Research app already for a while, but I’m not always using my iPad in combination with X-Plane on my Mac. Strange isn’t it and at the same time also a shame since many other developers make also great add-ons to project for example the FMS MCDU on the iPad and/or iPhone or maps, charts and so on. That said, this Laminar Research app is free of charge. It doesn’t cost anything and you can change settings, change the aircraft, change the airport and so much more on the fly. Worth trying it out I would say and that was also the idea of writing this review/impression; try it!

Since our in-depth FlyAGI Tweak Utility (FTU) review, published at X-Plained.Com, the FlyAGI utility has changed a lot. Agi added many new features, and one of these new features or expanded features is the modification or manipulation of clouds. Apart of the environment is clouds, but there’s so much more like controlling the sky colors, haze, rshade and so on. Since I was seeking for the right or good looking clouds, I felt that there was a need to write this article.

The reason for this additional article of FlyAGI Tweak Utility is that since my review a lot of things have been changed, in particular settings to clouds. The current add-on package version 1.10q offers a lot of cloud related changes and that’s then directly the reason for this article.

Once an a while there’s something that triggers Angelique’s attention. This time she was seeking for a lua utility that could do a bit more then she normally sees. Together with the recent update of X-Plane to version 11.30r3, she ran into trouble with her clouds, but she found, not only for clouds, a interesting freeware utility; FlyAGI Tweak Utility.

We should do this more. We from X-Plained.Com should do more freeware reviews since it’s fun seeing what developers can make. FlyAGI does have an own website in German and English. It’s more a forum, but with some interesting downloads too. One of them deals with this utility review. According to Angelique “I think I covered most of the FlyAGI Tweak Utility. It was not my intention to write a thorough review, although it has become a much longer story then planned.”

She continues “Anyway, I like this tiny freeware lua package and although we at X-Plained can’t host is, it’s worth to download it from the FlyAGI website and give it a try. Feedback of your experience is always welcome and perhaps you come up with good ideas to be added to the product and perhaps the developer is willing to implement that.”
