The Ultimate JF Cessna C152

Let me see, is this the ultimate Cessna C152 for X-Plane 11 or are there others on thew market? Carenado has a C152 for X-Plane 10 which is not updated and my feeling says, it will not be updated soon. That’s a shame, and therefore Just Flight, in partnership with Thranda Design, decided to give the Cessna C152 an X-Plane 11 boost! And we’re from X-Plained.Com are pleased to inform you that your personal reporter Angelique made a quick flight impression and she came up with the question … is this the Ultimate C152.

While she made quick ground- and flight impressions, it’s too early to say .., is it the ultimate Cessna C152. Anyway, you could also ask why she’s so enthusiastic?

That’s quickly answered …. it was my PPL aircraft during my flights from KEVB, Florida. And what she sees including the work from Thranda Design, it’s an awesome looking realistic weathered aircraft. Weathered, and not a bit by the way! Weathered in a way that Angelique recognises here own C152 aircraft. I’ve never seen during my flight training C152 aircraft that where so shiny, brand new or just painted to give them that glossy new look. No, all of the C152 I’ve seen where old, had scratches, where dirty, and the paint was far from new.

This is what this modeled X-Plane 11 model has too!

Anyway, please check out these exclusive screenshots we’ve made for you and I shouldn’t forget Just Flight who offered me a nearly finished and almost ready for final release model. More to come soon …..

Quick Look and Feel Flight Factor A320

While your personal reporter Angelique van Campen had been very busy with reviewing the Flight Factor A320, Andy Clarke has been busy too with reviewing his part of the aircraft. Soon, very soon, we’re pleased to offer you a comprehensive review of the Flight Factor A320 Ultimate.

It was a lot of work, a lot of things we needed to find out. This is partly because of the minimum amount of documentation. Although I have enough experience, a complex aircraft as this A320 is “then” even for me not easy to figure out all the features and how things are made or modeled. For some parts we needed to contact some real licensed pilots, but I can tell you that the end result is a well balanced review.

But for now, I would say … enjoy these exclusive screenshots made on a typical flight from LFBO, heading for the Pyrenees. When you feel do to so, a comment and/or suggestion is always welcome.

Alabeo M20R Alps Impression

Flying GA aircraft is fun, at least, that’s how I feel it. You can, if you want to, use the Garmin on-board equipment or fly just VFR and see whatever comes along. Today I decided to make a short test flight with the Alabeo M20R Ovation, departing from Lugano Airport and flying after climbing out to 8000 feet, in a Northern direction.

Besides that I have install from Alpiulotx.net the new HD and UHD mesh packages, I have also installed from Zones Photo the ortho ground texture images from Switzerland and surrounding area.

And had I fun, was it OK, was the aircraft OK or did I see something weird?
No, not at all. Ok, it wasn’t a thorough review or in-depth impression, but I got the idea that the external textures and 3D cockpit textures are of a higher level then before. It was overall a fun flight and a very easy aircraft to fly, but that was something that didn’t surprise me.

x737 EADT 373-700 Screenshots

For our special Boeing 737 Series e-Newsletter we’ve added – logically – the X737project 737-700 series. This freeware aircraft is presented by the European Aircraft Developer Team (EADT) and not only comes with the -700 series, but also with the -800 series.

This screenshot impression should give you a good idea what this freeware model offers, externally and internally. Although it was just flight to make those screenshots, I’m impressed by the razor sharp text on the panels. It’s amazing to be honest. You can zoom in on the panel as far as you want, the text stays sharp.

Anything else to say?
Just have a look at these exclusive screenshots and don’t forget to visit the EADT x737project website and feel free to donate and/or download the x737-700 or x737-800 models with a bunch of liveries being available too. Enjoy!

A Non-Standard ToLiss A319 Flight

It’s not really a test flight, but I wanted to try something new for X-Plained. Together with that thought or if you wish that idea, I made some exclusive screenshots of the ToLiss A319. The test flight was made from the Airbus Industries area, taxiing to runway 32L and heading for VOR stations TOU and AGN. After that, it’s all up to the entered flight plan in the MCDU or FMGS.

As you can see, I used for this test flight a great Airbus old-fashioned house livery. Perhaps for those who know Airbus a bit longer then a couple of years back, this was the original old house livery. Many thanks Christoph who’s responsible for this very nice livery, that I can use this livery.

Is it fun?
Yes, it’s a lot of fun. I didn’t use real time but I did use real weather. And as it is mostly in Toulouse area, nice weather except windy. You can see all the screenshots I made on this short takeoff and climb via this link and more is coming, but that will cost me a bit more effort then just making screenshots.

On Final Approach … FJS 732 for X-Plane 11

Soon to be released … just a couple of nights to go …..

First of all, it’s from the “on final approach” FJS (Fly J Sim) 732 or 737 Classic -200 series. Jack and his team did a lot of changes based on the original model for X-Plane 10. That said, the current model is fully compatible with X-Plane 11 and has a lot of new feature and improvements. The overall flight model was already extraordinary, but Jack and his team did many changes to the menu system, a reworked and improved 3D aircraft model with animated doors and stairs.

Enjoy these exclusive screenshots of the upcoming FJS 732 TwinJet for X-Plane.

But there’s more …. You can choose from the default X-Plane 11 FMS MCDU, or without any MCDU (is it was originally) or, when you own it, the xCIVA INS. And yes, there’s more … a completely equipped and functional Virtual Cabin and much more. Have a look to this temporarily feature list:

  • New sound set, completely redone for FMOD. There are so many little sounds here and there that its to big of a list to list right now.
  • Cabin fully modeled now, with cabin and cockpit doors, moving window shades and overhead bins. Lighting in the cabin is automatic or overridden with associated knobs.
  • Added forward and aft air stairs to the plane, fully animated and with sound(note rear air stair requires AC power.
  • Exterior and interior texture changes, including a complete PBR set for the whole plane, inside and out, and exterior textures have been upgraded to 4k.
  • Engine and flight model tuning for XP11. It should fly better, and more correctly.
  • New liveries.
  • New menu system UI, a fresh look for XP11.
  • Added maintenance system like the 727 V2, but updated a bit to be easier to use.
  • Many changes to how several system work, including bug fixes.
  • Complete pneumatic system rewrite. Bleed, pressurization and cabin temp systems all physically based. The cabin temps change dynamically.
  • There is now an option to use the default FMC in 3d, or you can hide or, or you can use CIVA, which works now in 11.11 but you need to still turn it on in the plugin admin till laminar fixes whatever is turning it off. But otherwise it works.
  • There is a new contextual window on the bottom left that will display helpful messages when settings and such are changed.
  • Added breaker panel, no simulation, just for show really. But its better then what was there before.
  • Cockpit lighting was adjusted.
  • Many items work in replay now. No longer do you need to keep engines on to see everything move in replay. You can park at a gate, turn it all off, open doors even, and then in replay it will all look right.
