On behalf of JARDesign, we’re pleased to inform you that they have updated their Airbus A330 to version 3.0. The good news is that this is FREE update for users who own the JD330 for X-Plane 11.

But most important …. What doers this A330 version 3.0 X-Plane 11 only offer? Update … Complete / Core “FlyWithLua 2.6.7”

UPDATE February 27th, 2018:

We’re pleased to inform you on behalf of X-Friese, that the X-Plane 11 FlyWithLua plugin has been update to version 2.6.7. Although plugin version 2.6.7 has been updated, this updated post and belonging download page does offer from today on the complete and core package. Further information can be found at the dedicated download page.

According to X-Friese “This is the official version of FlyWithLua for X-Plane 11, and it will no longer support X-Plane 10 or X-Plane 9. All X-Plane 10 users must stay at FlyWithLua 2.4.x, the last stable version made for X-Plane 10 and 9. All X-Plane 9 users (are there any out there?) must stay at FlyWithLua 2.4.x and follow the instructions to convert FlyWithLua 2.4.x into X-Plane 9 mode.”

“And of course all official versions of FlyWithLua are running on all three platforms, Linux, Mac OS X and Windows. Thanks a lot to Sparker for making this possible. Without him, FlyWithLua would be a Windows plugin only.”

This updated version 2.6.7 comes with the following changes:

  • Added command_begin and command_end.

WARNING: Since version 2.6.0 some scripts can stop working!
This is because of some new restrictions accessing DataRefs. Discussion for this is inside this topic. If your favorite script is affected, do not update FlyWithLua until the author of the script updates his script.

For those who aren’t aware what FlyWithLua can do for you …. check out this.
FlyWithLua offers a rapid development system to get in deep into X-Plane. An easy to understand, detailed manual is included. FlyWithLua will support all platforms, Windows, Linux and Mac, and it will support X-Plane 9 and X-Plane 10. A script can be used on all platforms by default, without the need of re-editing. This let’s you share scripts with friends using other systems. FlyWithLua uses LuaJIT as a compiler. This results in very fast code execution, much faster than the original Lua interpreter. FlyWithLua is ready to be used by anybody, no matter if you are a beginner or an experienced Lua developer.

You can read all about it and download the latest FlyWithLua plugin for X-Plane 11 (only for registered users) via our dedicated download page.

SimHeaven Releases “X-Europe”

We’re pleased to inform you that SimHeaven has released an brand new product for X-Plane …. X-Europe! A personal note from myself (Angelique); I had the opportunity to see X-Europe during one of the beta tests myself and it’s awesome. I flew over the Netherlands and included with X-Europe also the necessary ortho packages. The end result was a highly realistic VFR flight. So, worth to see, worth to try and worth a donation for Armin and his team.

According to Armin from SimHeaven; The default scenery is the first step, the second step will be the localization, i.e. different looks for different regions. This XP11 scenery is made by me and my core team Axel, Roland and Sven) totally new from the bottom, with these features:

  • mainly uses OSM data to ensure the most realistic view
  • default objects are original XP11 objects (with LR permission)
  • no other libraries needed
  • highly configurable via library system to change/add objects easily
  • different layers (extras, scenery, network)

I’ve made some demo videos with beta versions including a comparison between Ortho4XP/Standard/X-EUROPE, you will find them at YouTube: And some (not actual) screenshots you will find in the announcement on my website:

Have fun flying across Europe and exploring all the things we brought to you. If you find it useful, buy me a beer or make me drunk! All relevant information can be found at the dedicated SimHeaven web page.

New … “Environment+” Plugin

On behalf of Org user MagikarpDrowned, we are very pleased with his approval to offer you their extraordinary Environment+ FlyWithLua plugin for X-Plane 11.

Whatever you and I tried before, I was never happy with the environment and then in particular clouds. I do own “Enviro”, but that’s for Windows only thus seeking for something else wasn’t easy till I found this package. In one word ….. awesome!

Yes, I know, you would say .. SkyMAXX Pro, but for many reason I’m not happy with that and it’s frame rate consuming so I would say …. Environment+_ is a must have!

According to MagikarpDrowned ……

Hello, and welcome to Environment+, the new and improved mod for your sim environment! The “Enviroment” is what we’ve done to make the sim so much more immersive, and the + is your contribution to it! We love seeing what people will add on top of it! From skycolours, to cloud textures, to tweaks of the .lua itself!

This mod primarily came about when Dusty296 noticed that most other .luas had their clouds placed as much as 7,000+ feet above where they were supposed to be! To bring the weather back down to its proper layer and keep it looking nice was a difficult, time consuming task, but with the help of MagikarpDrowned (Creator of Project Better X-Plane), we’ve crafted an amazing new environment.

This of course isn’t simply a .lua tweak, which is why it’s not called any old .lua tweak. It’s an environment tweak, and that means it comes with cloud textures! Courtesy of FSEnhancer’s amazing work laying out the clouds, and Magikarp’s tweaks to their already fantastic puffs, we’ve got some perfect fits for the new environment! I greatly encourage using the skycolours from the aforementioned mod, or Soft Cloud Art’s similarly stunning skycolours!

But, you may be wondering, “What if the textures tank my FPS? What if it doesn’t perform as well? What if I just don’t have the VRAM for it?” Well, I had thought about that a lot, and that’s why the .lua was primarily built to focus on making the DEFAULT cloud textures as magnificent as possible. If you have performance issues, or just prefer the look, I greatly encourage you try out the default X-Plane 11 cloud textures with this .lua!

Curious what MagikarpDrowned has to say more? Curious what it can do for you? Curious how it looks like in real? Then you must check out our dedicated Environment+ download page, but keep in mind, only for registered users!

FlyJSim Boeing 732 TwinJet v3 Review

Oh oh, that was a bit more work to test and write then expected, but it was worth every minute as well as the product itself. Your personal reporter and investigator Angelique van Campen, took the time to review the FlyJSim Boeing 732 TwinJet (737-200 Classic) version 3.0, fully optimised for X-Plane 11.

According to Angelique “During my review years I’ve seen, tested many commercial aircraft, but this is one of those aircraft that has realism at an unbelievable high level. After testing the FlyJSim 732 for many hours with X-Plane 11, I can only conclude that I’m a happy simmer.”

Anything else to tell you? Oh yes, when you like reading a comprehensive review, then relax, sit back, take a cup of coffee, tea or something else since this review is over 10.000 words!
