X-Trident Panavia Tornado Review

That took a bit more time to investigate all the features of the X-Trident Panavia Tornado for X-Plane 11, but our dedicated reviewer Andy Clarke succeeded in this task. The end result is a comprehensive review of the Tornado for X-Plane 11.11+.

According to Andy “This is a highly realistic and complex model providing a great experience whether the user intends to take off and enjoy the flight or operate the model at its highest level of realism. The model is created in detail and is visually impressive as well as having a large number of systems available in both the pilot’s and co-pilot’s cockpits”, but Andy has so much more to tell you. Curious what he has to say?

Then you must read his in-depth Tornado review. Enjoy the reading and comments are always welcome.

Wilson Classics Tristar L-101 Review

Your personal reporter Angelique van Campen is pleased to offer you her ins and outs of the Wilson Classic Lockheed Tristar L-1011 for X-Plane 11.

According to Angelique “the aircraft still need a couple fo upgrades, the overall look and feel is absolutely a Lockheed Tristar. The package offers two models; the short and normal version. Further on, a manual is included as well as a paint kit. When you love historical aircraft, then this is perhaps something for you.

The review covers for the moment no xCIVA (INS) implementation. Although xCIVA should be compatible with the release of X-Plane 11.11, it not officially implemented in the L-1011 X-Plane model, but with the next update this will hopefully the case. Angelique has decided to leave it out of this review. The next update will also have a functional F/E (Flight Engineer) panel, so there’s a lot to come. Don’t worry … the reviewed L-1011 has a lot to offer.

Curious what Angelique has to say about this Lockheed package? If you are, then I suggest that you follow this comprehensive review link and enjoy the reading.

On Final Approach … FJS 732 for X-Plane 11

Soon to be released … just a couple of nights to go …..

First of all, it’s from the “on final approach” FJS (Fly J Sim) 732 or 737 Classic -200 series. Jack and his team did a lot of changes based on the original model for X-Plane 10. That said, the current model is fully compatible with X-Plane 11 and has a lot of new feature and improvements. The overall flight model was already extraordinary, but Jack and his team did many changes to the menu system, a reworked and improved 3D aircraft model with animated doors and stairs.

Enjoy these exclusive screenshots of the upcoming FJS 732 TwinJet for X-Plane.

But there’s more …. You can choose from the default X-Plane 11 FMS MCDU, or without any MCDU (is it was originally) or, when you own it, the xCIVA INS. And yes, there’s more … a completely equipped and functional Virtual Cabin and much more. Have a look to this temporarily feature list:

  • New sound set, completely redone for FMOD. There are so many little sounds here and there that its to big of a list to list right now.
  • Cabin fully modeled now, with cabin and cockpit doors, moving window shades and overhead bins. Lighting in the cabin is automatic or overridden with associated knobs.
  • Added forward and aft air stairs to the plane, fully animated and with sound(note rear air stair requires AC power.
  • Exterior and interior texture changes, including a complete PBR set for the whole plane, inside and out, and exterior textures have been upgraded to 4k.
  • Engine and flight model tuning for XP11. It should fly better, and more correctly.
  • New liveries.
  • New menu system UI, a fresh look for XP11.
  • Added maintenance system like the 727 V2, but updated a bit to be easier to use.
  • Many changes to how several system work, including bug fixes.
  • Complete pneumatic system rewrite. Bleed, pressurization and cabin temp systems all physically based. The cabin temps change dynamically.
  • There is now an option to use the default FMC in 3d, or you can hide or, or you can use CIVA, which works now in 11.11 but you need to still turn it on in the plugin admin till laminar fixes whatever is turning it off. But otherwise it works.
  • There is a new contextual window on the bottom left that will display helpful messages when settings and such are changed.
  • Added breaker panel, no simulation, just for show really. But its better then what was there before.
  • Cockpit lighting was adjusted.
  • Many items work in replay now. No longer do you need to keep engines on to see everything move in replay. You can park at a gate, turn it all off, open doors even, and then in replay it will all look right.

Fscabral “Used SSG 747-8 cockpit textures”

We’re happy to offer you on behalf of Fabio (fscabral), some exclusive cockpit weathered textures of the SSG (Supercritical Simulation Group) Boeing 747-8.

Ok, what is this all about?
On my own request and with the help of Leen de Jager, Fabio recreated the default SSG 747-8 cockpit textures. Although the textures has been improved a lot, I still missed the “used” look and feel. I’m also aware that this is a personal feeling. I’ve seen many aircraft in my life, and yes, brand new air raft have a clean cockpit, but within no time each cockpit has on several places scratches, dents, dirty carpet thus it gets the real weathered look.

With that in mind – my wish – and with the help of Leen de Jager, Fabio made a great looking used or if you wish a weathered cockpit. At many places in the cockpit you’ll find scratches on painted objects, dirty spots, etc.

You’re curious how it looks like?
Then you must check our dedicated download page with screenshots and above all, the download package, but remember that the download is only available for registered users. Have fun with these weathered cockpit textures.
