Our Update: June 11th 2020, product update to version 1.14c

Update Description from Agi: “FTU has been updated to 1.14c providing X-Plane 11.50 compatibility sand much more. The change-log list below is since our last version 1.12c and the current version 1.14c

  • Removed no longer available datarefs
  • Disabled some shadow options which are no longer available in 11.50
  • Removed shadow options (mostly useless in XP 11.50)
  • Moved cloud shadow intensity button to advanced clouds menu
  • Removed aircraft persistence feature (for less dataref compatibility issues)
  • Removed sound engine (for less dataref compatibility issues)
  • Decluttered main menu, moved some buttons
  • Added ‘limit far’ manipulator to advanced clouds menu
  • Default value for ‘limit far’ is 0.2 which should prevent clouds flickering without corrupting the shadow position too much
  • Removed ‘limit far’ manipulator from advanced clouds menu (seems to be broken in 11.50b10 resulting in uniform cloud shadows)
  • Added new clouds preset ‘Fast Bright Clouds’
  • Increased cloud shadow intensity for ‘Fast Clouds’ preset
  • Removed ‘Last Texture’ button from advanced clouds menu (this button was pretty useless)
  • Renamed ‘First Texture’ button ‘Textures used’ so it now shows the amount of used cloud textures
  • Optimized cloud shadow intensity for ‘Fast Clouds’ and ‘Fast Bright Clouds’ presets
  • Added auto cloud lighting option to advanced clouds menu
  • Optimized standard ‘Fast Clouds’ option, integrated auto cloud lighting and cloud level fix
  • Fixed some cloud related stuff not working as intended in version 1.13c
  • General features are now synchronized across all aircraft by default and always to avoid the need for manual synchronization
  • Full per aircraft saving can be restored in Launcher options > Aircraft synchronization if needed
  • Refined clouds lighting logic, should be seamless now
  • Added wave scaling to water options
  • Added auto wave scaling to water options, if enabled this will scale waves depending on altitude MSL
  • Some buttons reworked for more intuitive use and better understanding
  • Reworked wave scaling logic (more dynamic, smoother)
  • Added configurable parameters for wave scaling logic (‘Max Wave Altitude’ and ‘Max Wave Factor’)
  • Added new configurable parameter for wave scaling logic (‘Min Wave Factor’)
  • Added wave scaling reset switch
  • Some fixes
  • Brought back cloud shadows far limit manipulator to advanced clouds menu (higher values fix broken cloud shadows in the distance)
  • Rearranged some buttons in advanced clouds menu
  • Added far limit value 40.000 to all custom cloud presets and 10.000 to default clouds preset

Why do you need another tweak and settings script?
I know there are some settings and tweaking tools out there but none of them did satisfy me so I always kept tweaking myself with simple scripts for changing the parameters that really impact performance without sacrificing visual appearance to much. For making this easier and to have the possibility to use different tweaks and settings in different aircraft I wrote the tweak utility. All the settings the utility gives access to have an instant effect without the need of a scenery reload (except the extended DSFs switch, it initiates a reload when clicked) and I think they are more or less self explanatory.

Your save files will get lost but there is a workaround for this:

  1. With your older FTU version create a sync file if not done already
  2. Save this file ‘FTU_Sync_Settings.ftu‘ on your desktop and rename it ‘FTU_Sync_Settings.lua
  3. Remove the old FTU installation from your scripts directory
  4. Install FTU 1.12 into your scripts directory
  5. Copy ‘FTU_Sync_Settings.lua’ from your desktop into ‘FlyAgi_Tweak_Utility/Userdata/Settings’ folder (create folders if needed)
  6. Start X-Plane and load the sync file into your aircraft
