Oh oh, that was a massive hardware review, but thanks to JARDesign for guiding me in the right direction and Hugues Carpe from Hercules Thrustmaster, your personal reporter Angelique van Campen was able to review an in-depth review of the latest Thrustmaster Airbus edition, the TCA Captain Pack Airbus Edition to be exactly.
The TCA series started with the TCA Sidestick Airbus Edition, then the TCA Quadrant Airbus Edition was added, and not long after that, Thrustmaster released the TCA Quadrant Add-on Airbus Edition. Then you also have the TCA Officer Pack Airbus, and yes, you could wait for it, the TCA Captain Pack Airbus was added to it on October 12th 2021.
According to Angelique “One thing I can say ….. wow, that was a great experience. Besides that the TCA Captain Airbus Pack Edition looks gorgeous, it also works for some X-Plane aircraft “out-of-the-box” while for others a couple of dedicated commands are needed.”
Curious what she experienced? Curious how it was to fly one of the Airbus family aircraft from LFBO, France? Then I advice you to relax, take a drink with you, and read her in-depth TCA Captain Pack Airbus Edition review at X-Plained.Com.
An excellent review and a great help to those who are not soo technical on setting the captain pack up. One thing I like was that it was done without the pedals as many pilots might not have them either. I like the tip about using the YAW axis on the Sidestick as Nose Wheel Steering and I would like to add to that suggestion as follows as this seems to work well for me. With the absence of toe brakes as well I usually assign the trigger switch on the side stick as it is spring loaded to Toggle hold brakes maximum and then when taxiing to the hold point I squeeze the trigger and the aircraft stops. Another part of this process is that you can of course have one hand on the side stick and leave the other hand free for the throttle quadrant and here comes another neat trick I found. The metal screwdriver in the kit has a home on the the throttles as near the base is a hole on the side and the tool fits nicely inside the two throttles linking them together so it can help when moving the throttles forward to toga or flex as they are together besides which it is a handy place to store the tool instead of losing it somewhere
Hi lesmar, thank you fort your time to reply and to add some personal suggestions. Much appreciated.
Very good review, one of the best I have read on this Joystick / Throttle combo. Extremely detailed.
It is a shame I can’t find this anywhere to purchase it.
Thank you for this reply, but where are you living? It must be somewhere near you.
