Marc (Belga12345) X-Plane 10 versus X-Plane 11

Ever wanted to see the differences between screenshots made in X-Plane 10 versus X-Plane 11?

Marc Leydecker a.k.a. Belga12345 took the time and effort to find these differences. Oh yes, we can all read these differences, but when you see an X-Plane shot at more or less the same location and conditions in X-plane 11, then it makes sense, right?

Marc would like to share with you his experience of what he has seen so far, but I must add to this that Marc’s X-Plane software runs on Windows and, as for all of us, is beta software. That said, subject to change!

According to Marc; in order to get a true comparison, I took 3 aircraft
A) the default Cessna 172 (everybody should know this one)
B) a highly detailed FREEWARE by Alcala Cessna 170
C) a highly detailed payware, the Staggerwing

Each plane was put into the same position, in X-Plane 10, X-Plane 11. No gadgets, plugins are enhancers, plain vanilla X-Plane. Of course the field of view might be slightly different and worth to highlight, the upper screenshot is always X-Plane 11 while the lower is X-Plane 10.

There are some remarkable differences … some good, some bad!

Marc continues …. aircraft textures in X-Plane 11 look more realistic depending on viewing angle

X-Plane 11: Too much haze, colours are washed out
X-Plane 11: Hard to see with the haze but the hues of nature, including the water are more natural
X-Plane 11: missing cockpit textures and some textures on buildings (could be a Win issue?)

Some haze will make it look more natural but the screenshots were taken at 2000ft and I can not distinguish the difference in-between land and water might be also due to the fact that on the PC, the colours are washed out (might look different on an Apple computer).

Enjoy!

Since beta2 came out, things have been running pretty good on my computer (i7-3770 3.4 GHz, 16 GB. RAM, GTX 970 4 GB. Video.) I was at NSTU and the mountains looked better (textures) than XP 10.
