RWDesign Spitfire BAF (Belgian Air Force) Livery
Marc Leydecker aka Belga12345 is pleased to offer you his high quality livery of the RWDesign Spitfire in BAF (Belgian Air Force) MN-A livery. This livery is, different then the stock liveries slightly weathered and offers therefore a used look and feel. When you think about real Spitfires, then this is the way a weathered painting should look like.
But Marc goes even further, as we all know Marc. He thought that there’s also a need to add weathering in the 3D cockpit since the stock 3D cockpit textures to offer a limited weathered look with some scratches, but Marc wasn’t happy with the stock 3D cockpit textures. That said, Marc added to this BAF MN-A livery also new and much more realistic 3D cockpit textures. All together worth the Spitfire.
An interesting article from the Belgian Air Force Days website; “Perhaps the most famous of all Spitfires still flying today, the Spitfire Mk IX MH434 will be present during the BAFDAYS16 in flying display and in formation with Belgian F-16. It will be a very special moment for the Belgian Air Force, and in particular for the 350 (F)Squadron based in Florennes, since the MH434 actually flew in 350 (F)Sqn during the Second World War and in the Belgian Air Force later on. This Spitfire is remarkably original, having never been subject to a re-build. An absolute delight to fly, the aircraft is beautifully responsive and extremely maneuverable.
Built at Castle Bromwich, the aircraft flew in August 1943 and was one of the many Spitfires air-tested by the great test pilot Alex Henshaw. In service with 222 (Natal) Squadron (Squadron code ZD as displayed on the picture), it shot down two Luftwaffe Focke-Wulf FW-190s in the hands of South African pilot Flt Lt Henry Lardner-Burke while on operations over occupied Europe (Courtesy of Belgian Air Force Days).” The whole article can be found at the dedicated Belgian Air Force Days web page.
