We’re pleased to offer you an exclusive Boeing Commercial Airplanes factory rollout liveries for well known X-Plane aircraft developers. On behalf of Fabio Cabral (fscabral), we’re with his approval allowed to offer you a Boeing factory rollout paintings.
This painting are actually the one at the factory covered with primer. That the primer color differs over for example the fuselage has to do with different materials and different manufactures.
Some background information about primers; a primer or undercoat is a preparatory coating put on materials before painting. Priming ensures better adhesion of paint to the surface, increases paint durability, and provides additional protection for the material being painted. Some metals, such as untreated aluminium, require a primer; others may not.
A primer designed for metal is still highly recommended if a part is to be exposed to moisture. Once water seeps through to the bare metal, oxidation will begin (plain steel will simply rust). Metal primers might contain additional materials to protect against corrosion, such as sacrificial zinc.
Anyway, our download page (downloads are only available for registered members of X-Plained.Com) offers the factory rollout livery for the SSG (Supercritical Simulation Group) Boeing 747-8i for X-Plane 11 only.
